Installation: basswood, inkjet photographs and text on 18 sheets of BFK Rives paper, sea salt, glass, linen thread, 60 cm wide by 74 cm height and 2.4 m long.

Half the sheets contain images of bodies of water including those of the St. Lawrence Seaway and lakes in Northeastern Ontario. The other 9 sheets contain text, a personal story told in French in the first-person singular that is juxtaposed with its interpretation told in English in the third-person singular. The sentences in the first half, read from one side of the table, are reordered to create the text in the second, read from the the other side, emphasizing a sense of déjà vu, a cycle. The story is about a trip, impressions, recollections, the loss of a mother and those before her, then retold in reverse. The scene, the link, is water. The sheets are folded and sewn into a structure modelled on the early Canadiana table. At one end of the table is a drawer, traditionally used for cutlery, filled with sea salt. Upon reaching the other end of the structure, a hole in the table, the size of a plate, reveals under-mounted rippled glass that casts a reflection, an impression of water. The spectator is invited to touch and turn the pages.
